SSL https

Have you ensured that your website is now secure with a URL beginning path of https rather than the previous http URL beginning path ?

Google Chrome have upgraded their specification of a safe and secure website to have an SSL encryption certificate put in place by the Domain Registrar as well as https now being the required URL beginning path, requiring redirects to be put in place.

The SSL certificates are available free of charge from most registrars but they last 60 days and will need to be renewed.

There is a good testing website, SSL Shopper, that allows you to see if a website is secure and also set a reminder flag to your email address, to renew the SSL certificate. We recommend that a minimum 3-day notice period be set as this allows for a weekend or most UK Bank holidays.
